Brand Strategy
Founded in 2017 by a U.S Marine veteran and an EMT, Global Response Medicine (GRM) was whole different breed in humanitarian aid organizations. Scrappy, agile, and undeterred by red tape, GRM teams prided themselves on “Going where others don’t, doing what others can’t.” But their work providing life-saving medical care on the front lines in war and disaster zones was not well known, even within the world of NGOs. To survive, they needed support from donors, foundations, and other partner organizations.
Working closely with GRM team members, I conducted leadership interviews and competitive research to develop a brand strategy that also informed the Creative Director’s design direction. The new GRM persona and messaging shined a well-earned spotlight on the organization and opened doors for partnerships with the World Health Organization among others.
